physalis: brazilian design for the world

The Physalis luminaire collection was designed for Accord Lighting, a Paraná manufacturer of luminaires, with the support of the Design Export program of Centro Brasil Design. From the beginning, it was conceived as a collection directed to the foreign market, mainly from the United States.

The project briefing defined the use of wood finishes as the company's main differential, and stipulated technical conditions for full acceptance of the products in the North American market. The inspiration in the physalis flower shape has resulted in an iconic design that is very commercially successful and has been noted at major international exhibitions and fairs.

The piece was featured at the Milan Design Week 2019 "Design Brasiliano" show, the 2018 Chicago Light Fair, as well as the 2019 edition of Euroluce - Salone del Mobile Milano. In Italy, it was published in the prestigious Milanese newspaper Corriere della Sera, as an example of lush Brazilian design. The collection consists of column, lamp, wall light, pendant and ceiling lamps.
